I hope this will be the last height uplift application for this high rise. I am concerned that the gold glazing will reflect the glare of the sun's rays into nearby homes and oncoming traffic surrounding this building as well as increase neighbourhood air temperatures during summer.
I notice there is an increase in short term accommodation. I have not seen any evidence of critically needed affordable accommodation in the application.
The GCCC should be prioritising desperately-needed affordable accommodation for ratepayers rather than always approving luxury accommodation for wealthy tourists, investors and owners of multiple properties as well as being a facility for money laundering. It is past time for the GCCC to display ethics in approving development applications rather than always pandering to the power of money.
