How could the council let this subdivision go through there are no other developments like this and that is why our area is so special . to start to put units in peoples backyards leaving no land around either dwelling if people want to live in a high density area they should move to the inner suburbs. l have lived in this area for the last 26 years or so and if this goes though and sets a president will destroy the wonderful place we live in .

I have lived in this area for many years and this development is totally out of character with
this area l often walk passed this home and the size of the land that the unit is to be built on is only the size of a small backyard l just don't understand why. All the other homes in the area are nice size blocks any units like in Ryans Rd where l live are in a block of units but all seem to have land around them and don,t crochet on the landscape. I'm very concerned that our area will end up with units in backyard just squashed in everywhere not happy

I live in Ryans rd and often walk past this house why would you allow a unit to be built in small backyard . it is total out of character with our area . There are a few units on Ryans rd but the seem to be built with land and vegetation around them so they do fit in the landscape of the area . I,m concerned that these units will pop up in backyards and destroy what l know as Eltham l have lived in the area all my life and would like my children to grow up in this area that is peaceful and quiet and relaxing not living on top of each other like other areas keep us unique and special without over development

The two story unit subdivision plans for subject 130 Progress Road, Eltham North do not fit the scope of the street or in fact fit the scope of Eltham. Eltham has been commonly defined as "Green and lush, living in Eltham is almost like living in the country yet within comfortable commuting distance of the City" and "It offers great expanses of parklands throughout its quite streets and leafy suburb vista's. " The approval of such an application to subdivide in an area in which there are no similar two story dwellings and the associated removal of native vegetation is changing the perspective of Eltham.

I have lived in the Eltham North area for 22 years and have walked these streets on a regular basis. I find it difficult to understand how such a plan can be approved for what is proposed for 130 Progress Road, given the size of the land and the character of the neighbourhood. Further, I imagine erecting the proposed dwelling on this block would impact greatly on properties backing onto this block, situated in Allison Crescent, Eltham North, an area that is very treed and very Eltham. Surely such development does not belong in these streets and would be more suited to streets closer to the town centre. I appeal to the better judgement of Councillors to reject this proposal.
