With estimated 15 bedrooms on this single house block, will there be sufficient car parks on-site for at least x10 cars plus x5 visitors? If properties are rented, car park demands could be as high as x4 cars per dwelling (ie. x20 cars plus visitors). The impact of insufficient car parks in new developments in this area impacts other streets in Koala Park, which are already choked with weekend visitors.

Aerial view on page 91 from the 249 page Development Application around this site quite clearly show that most of the street parking along Awoonga is already occupied. More resident parking is needed at this address & with only 2 visitors spots given it is definitely inadequate for this building.
Council need to take a good hard look at this small enclave with its tiny streets known as Koala Park in Burleigh Heads. All these recently approved (and most outside the guidelines), 4-5 unit dwellings on small single blocks around 500m2 is disastrous - more residential parking spots should be included in the plans. With all these new approvals, sadly traffic in this area has quadrupled in recent years & this area has mainly young families with small children - the roads are becoming extremely dangerous.
    Please reevaluate this project.

Debbie, I truly feel for you. I’m blessed to live on the beach in Burleigh Heads. We’re having so many developments, most that are outside the GCCC Town Plan include a “5 star” hotel. None appear to provide anywhere near the amount of parking required. I believe most households have at least 2 cars and rarely any for visitors as the complex takes up the whole block of land. It’s getting more and more difficult for friends, family or even delivery people to find a park. Developments are fine but they need to consider those who already live here.

I agree with other comments that more parking is required. The limited parking currently provided will inevitably result in overflow onto Awoonga, limiting access for those members of the community trying to access the beach and creek.
