    Hello,
I am questioning and emit concerns on the following:
    - impact of the new folding door on the overall building design.
    - opening time till evening (10pm) with the later request of a license to serve alcohol which will impact the neighbourhood with noise increase and potentially intoxicated patrons.
    Best regards.

This building is our home. Some of us get up at 4 am to work and get in bed around 8:30 pm. Open till 10 pm is not acceptable for us, due to noise (inevitable considering that alcohol will be served). The latest opening hours must be 7:00 pm, not later, as it will take an additional hour for crowds of people to calm down and dissipate.

As a local within this building I am in complete support of this application.

Erko building in erskineville (Foodcraft Cafe) provides a useful precedent of a successful licensed cafa/restaurant that positively contributes to the area whilst balancing impact on the residents and area.

If this proposal has comparable DA conditions and hours of management I see no reason why it should be refused.

Commercial retail tenancy space has always been designated for this building.

I do not agree with proposed opening hours and have my concerns regarding below:
    1. Upon original purchase agreement, there was a cafe approval, but not a restaurant, especially not the one that is open till 10pm every day except Sunday.
    2. Due to shortages of car spaces, residents will not have enough parking for their own vehicles on the street, as parking will be taken by restaurant visitors after working hours.
    3. Because of the unique shape of the building, the sound echoes from one wall to another, meaning that outdoor setting will create a noise for all the residents living in the inner courtyard.
    4. The restaurant opening hours should be shorten to 9.00pm on Friday-Saturday, and till 7pm Monday-Thursday and Sunday.
    5. I believe that our inner courtyard will attract “after party” people and smokers that visited the restaurant. This will create a smoke drift coming to apartments above the “cafe” and a loud noise.

As a resident in this building, I am opposed to this proposed development for the below reasons:
    1. Noise drift. Due to the shape of the apartment complex, any noise from the inner Huntley Street grassed area bounces and is heard from our apartments. Even when sitting in the grassed area, conversations are clearly heard from the apartments. Opening until 10 pm on weeknights will produce too much noise for the residents facing this way.
    2. Smoke drift. The complex is a non-smoking building, there are concerns that this will not be respected by people coming to the restaurant/café.
    3. Rubbish. There needs to be serious consideration into how to minimise people disposing of their rubbish on the street. Just up the road at the Grounds of Alexandria, a very large amount of litter is generated through takeaway cups and containers due to lack of rubbish bins in the area. The City of Sydney must consider the addition of public rubbish bins in the area if they are to approve another café.

I disagree with the proposed long hours until 10.00pm. This is a residential building with inner courtyard facing many apartments. We, as a community, were told upon purchase the apartment, it will be a cafe, not the restaurant. Now I feel tricked and facing the inner courtyard I reject this planning as it will create the following problems:
    1. Loud noise.
    2. Strangers lingering in our courtyard.
    3. Excess littering and rubbish.
    4. Shortage of parking for home owners, especially after working hours.

I agree with the comments above, 10.00pm is way too late considering our building structure as it echoes and the sound bounces from one wall to another.
Another thing I am concerned is the smoke drift.
I would like to propose the following hours:
    Monday-Thursday 7.00am-8.00pm
    Friday-Saturday 7.00am-9.00pm
    Sunday 7.00pm.

I have lived here since the start and would really appreciate a cafe / pastry shop that closes at 5/6.00pm max. We don’t need evening amenities here since Newtown is so close

I fully support this application and the proposed opening hours. That is no later than the Woolworths is open right next to my bedroom (only Woolworths is open 7 days) and Woolworths generates a lot more noise than a local restaurant. This area needs more life after dark.

I am fully supportive of this application including the hours proposed. I believe any noise issues can be managed and it will add life to this area.

As someone who owns and resides in an apartment in this building, I am generally supportive of the cafe development, however, I am concerned about it remaining open until 10pm, particularly on weeknights. I don't consider neighbouring developments such as Foodcraft or Woolworths to be good comparisons. The unique shape of the Huntley Street facing facade causes even low level noise to be amplified significantly. You can hear conversations being had on the footpath outside very clearly. You would not necessarily appreciate this if you did not have an apartment facing the Huntley Street courtyard.
