Until the parking situation is sorted we don't need any more restaurants in Barwon Heads. Traffic is extremely busy now. JA

Another hangout for yuppies and another nail in the coffin. Why why why are people hell bent on ruining every coastal village in Australia with commercialism. What ever happened to going to magnificent places and taking a picnic etc with you. Population explosions in Australia’s iconic areas are destroying everything we’ve ever loved. Higher visitor numbers shouldn’t necessarily mean more infrastructure, apart from public amenities. Many many towns and areas in Australia are self destructing due to their so called success luring more visitors from big cities who are determined to turn these areas into miniature versions of their big cities. Piss off if you don’t like it the way it is.

Agree with the parking situation. The town can’t cope with the influx already. More buildings and council is wavering parking for these premises.

I have welcomed the development of 64 Hitchcock Ave as a dining and bar venue in Barwon Heads to encourage a diversity of dining scenes in the area. The owner has done a great job to restore and create the original feel to the town.I wish him great success.
Unfortunately the Council have not given due consideration of parking in the area despite areas they could buy to develop this.
I am at present going to VCAT against a 3x2 storey site at 3 Colite St Barwon Heads against the amenity of residents and non consideration of the parking from the main St is a disgrace.
I find the venue in Hitchcock a great venue to create the village ambiance but the lack of parking means that my house in Challis St gets the overflow of the Main Street.
Those wishing to join me in a VCAT application against 3x2 storey units at 3 Colite St and possibly another at 5 Colite St currently for sale please join me.

The owners have done a lovely job restoring the building at 64 Hitchcock Ave, with the seaside feel. I would welcome the opportunity for the owners to add a liquor licence for the cafe, reflecting the offering of other cafes in the strip.
