This is a fantastic project that will bring colours and life to this otherwise really bland façade.

It's terrific and something that Council should not be reactive to but proactive to encourage.

Street Art has been lacking in all areas of Sydney, it brings context and life to the otherwise bland and uninteresting.

    Well Done- APPROVED!

I have lived and owned my apartment on Railway Parade since 2007 and I support this much needed DA application unequivocally.
PACT have made a great contribution to this side of Erskineville and have been respectful to neighbours in the area. This art work will enhance the neighbourhood aesthetic, in an otherwise barren part of Railway Parade.
I see no negative outcomes from this project.

    I full support this mural.

More colour, art and life to our once dirty industrial suburb. Erskineville residents will enjoy walking past this mural and it may also act as traffic calming around that narrow section of Railway Pde/ Henderson Rd

Disclaimer - after being long term Erskineville resident I’ve now moved away in search of more space, but I miss vibrant projects such as these that add to the community amenity.

Fully support this beautiful piece of public art. We need more of this in Sydney. It enriches the built environment. Please make sure there is a plaque/ information board to acknowledge the artist(s).

Great idea for an otherwise bland theatre. I used to walk by often before I even realised art was presented inside. Will bring new people in to see young people perform!

I fully support this mural for PACT Theatre. The wall could do with some enlivening and the arts need support after 18 months of neglect.

What a fantastic addition this will be to railway street.
The design of the mural really suits the creative earthy vibe in erskineville and will nicely compliment the colours of the lush greenery and flowers that are already in this street.

I regularly walk or run down this street on my way to do morning exercise or going to the post office. At the moment railway street feels quite drab and uninviting, but this mural will really lift things.

In a suburb with such a high walkability score, like Erskineville, street art is a such an important part of the landscape. It also helps defer undesirable graffiti like tagging and makes the area feel safer. It is also a crucial way for us to share our stories with each other.

The arts really need a boost at the moment post covid so I want to be seeing my council supporting arts projects.

    I fully support this proposal.

Proposal for mural at PACT Theatre 107-125 Railway Parade, Erskineville, NSW 2043. (D/2021/1191)

Friends of Erskineville fully supports the addition of this public mural outside of PACT Theatre.

The design is attractive and colourful and references Sydney’s aboriginal heritage. The neighbourhood has been rather neglected compared to the western part of Erskineville and this mural would add much needed vibrancy.

As artists of all categories have lost employment since Covid we think this would help invigorate both PACT Theatre and the muralists involved.

Looks great! Do it! The colours are fantastic

  32. F commented

I would love to see a mural there by a Eora artist. This is eora land and there are so many eora artists! Why can’t we have our art on our country?

  33. Nuala F commented

I love this project so much! Its impact will be felt far and wide in the artistic community and the local community! I can't wait to see it come to life! Go PACT!

  34. EMoore commented

Isn’t this the same thing that was hanging at Broadway for NAIDOC? Can’t we get something original?

The Johnny come lately mob have a new member! Is the artist Eora?

  36. Michael Bates commented

Too late for comment on this application but I would like to make a request to include more of Jason Wing's murals in public spaces - there is not enough art reflecting Aboriginal-Chinese heritage (& so much of the local history has been erased) nor of art the quality that Jason is involved in. Specifically, work around Taylor Square/NAS would benefit as there is now no street art around, say, Burton St, Darlinghurst - the area was for a focus for renewal:
