don't think this proposed development is ideal location for this area , due to limited access to existing residents already . only one way in and one way out . also concerned about the extra traffic this will provide as street is a narrow residential street that has already a lot of existing residents using the street as parking . my main concern is the existing nbn node directly near this property is already at full capacity ( it cannot receive any new nbn internet connections ) we have been disconnected a couple of times by technicians going to that node and disconnecting existing ports , just so they can connect a new one ...
plus this was an existing house , when i bought here and at no time did i ever consider this would become a child care centre with the extra congestions this will bring . its not an ideal site for a child care centre and i object to this application

This proposed development is an awful idea - that intersection already becomes dangerously congested as traffic comes out of the lights, as well as being the only access into Chantilly Heights for all residents. This is a quiet neighbourhood and placing a childcare centre at the forefront will negatively affect the overall suburban feel. I strongly object to this development.

There are many concerns that come to mind with this proposed development. The main issue is the additional traffic in an already dangerous spot. The set of lights leading from California Creek Rd to this proposed site is already plagued with issues. Frequent collisions occur at the set of lights. To cross the road from Montessa to Kunde to Watercress takes multiple double checks due to the Multi-directional traffic flow. With a new service station also being constructed nearby this will also impact the flow of traffic and safety. There are many school aged children that walk to nearby schools or bus stops. The additional traffic would likely increase the safety risk for them.

I believe that due to the limited access to the estate and the very dangerous streets -Kunde and Utrecht- for parking, walking etc that this hill is highly unsuitable fir a childcare centre. We already have several close by negating the need for further facilities in our area.

The 'Traffic Assessment Report' states that "... the surrounding estate is fully developed it is not expected that future traffic growth on Montessa Street will be significant."
This is clearly incorrect as Council must be aware. Many of the larger blocks in Chantilly Heights are being subdivided and where there was once one house there may be four or five in future. There's only one road connecting us to Beenleigh Redland Bay Road and more traffic from the development will only reduce safety and increase congestion.

The proposal for this site is on a dangerous bend, especially as everyone rush to grab the green arrow to get into the estate, only to slam in the brakes to cars turning in kunde st, and to add a childcare centre right next to it is asking for accidents and. There are close calls daily, there are better sites for a childcare in the area

  8. Jason Walker commented

The proposal for this application is unsuitable due to the close proximity to the entrance to the estate. Traffic congestion at peak hour times into and out of the estate is already at capacity and with further development and subdivision in the area this application will only add to the growing problem. Safety for all the residents is the upmost importance and this application significant increases the exposure in our estate
