We object to the application for STA Application for 13 Dolphin Bay Crescent Sunshine Beach for the following reasons:
    1. STA will destroy the family and community fabric of Sunshine Beach
    2. This house has never been used as an STA before. The history of this house is one of primary residence.
    3. The north end of Sunshine Beach is a low density residential area and needs to be preserved for the use as a residential enclave and not turned into investor orientated purposes.
    4. Approving STA in north Sunshine Beach endorses holiday makers to make noise, hold parties, increase traffic and ruin the ambience for us residents who call north Sunshine home.
    5. Dolphin Bay Crescent is situated at the top of a valley whereby noise emanates particularly well across the local area – Arakoon, Seaview, Surfside, Whale, Dolphin Bay and McAnally.
    6. Seaview Terrace and Dolphin Bay have already multiple existing STAs. Our 33 Seaview Terrace is already encased with historic STA houses.
    7. Mixed housing is not workable as we and other residents in this Street get up early to work when holiday makers have no regular body clock.
    8. Dolphin Bay Cres and Seaview Terrace and the Dog Beach car park is already overcrowded with cars seeking a park. Seaview Terrace and Dolphin Bay Cres has yellow lines on both sides in this area.
    9. The sole purpose for STA is to provide tax assisted ownership for properties which ultimately drives up prices and pushes real Noosa residents out of the area.
We implore the Noosa Council to take into consideration the above points and to reject the STA application for this building.

North Sunshine Beach is a low density residential area and as such must be protected as a residential area.

Establishing and sustaining community is of the utmost priority.

There are many other properties suitable for short term accommodation - there is no reason to allow STA's in this area

I've lost count as to the number of residential houses in this area of north Sunshine - an extremely quiet residential area - that have had applications in for STA AND have been approved. Are you kidding? Drive around this area! Get out of the office, talk to the residents. You know, those that live here and help too pay your wage.
We want houses for actual residents, not holiday makers who don't car at all about others.
No room for cars, no room for extra noise, no room for extra bin pick ups, no room for overflowing bins, no room for extra cleaners to come in, no room for extra pool servicing etc etc etc.
The list goes on. PLEASE stop allowing these in our area.
You have already approved some - ridiculous!

Council, read the despair , the anguish and the disappointment in this woman’s comment. Give us some hope, forgodsake. Your residents are your bread and butter, your voters and your futures. Why are you permitting so many SSL’s in this residential area? What is your agenda?
Council, read the hopelessness in this, my response.

26 years we have lived here, we bought into a LOW RESIDENTIAL area, and we deserve the right for council to uphold that, not a semi commercial precinct, because that is what you are doing by approving the avalanche of current applications with the real estates promise of greater returns if it is registered as Short Term Let!! Narrow Streets, residential amenity ruined, lights, noise parking, you know the list.
Apparently the fear is that council is worried that property owners could sue council for stopping them from the right to let their homes out, the flip side, what if the home owners sued council for undermining our rights and that was when we purchased we did so in residential areas, not tourist holiday accomodation commercial presincts!. Are councillors voting or town planning staff, either way, what a legacy you are leaving, this is the undoing of Noosa!

At the very least STOP all applications until the new laws are in place. Then those applying do so knowing the full costs and associated rules.
