The proposed use is in conflict with the residential amenity and intended use of this area. Short term holiday let behaviours are at odds with those of longer term residential occupation. There is more than adequate tourist accommodation in appropriate zones in the coastal area of Noosa Shire. The whole fabric of community life is being destroyed by homes being used for tourist accommodation. We need housing for the employees who service this community including Council staff, medical, education and hospitality. Please do not approve this application and think of the broader economy

This short term accomodation is only 50 meter from a major school precinct, the parking and pick up of students is very critical in this street and surrounding.
I cannot understand why this should be accepted, the safety of children is a priority in our community....

    Hi Jean-Pierre
102 Pacific Ave is an approved hostel that has been operating for 11 years. Please read the proposal as it is about an extra 10 beds.
It is a managed resort not unregulated and has operated with strict council imposed conditions successfully and without affecting the amenity of the neighbourhood over that time.

It may have been operating for 11 years ,but I live about 60 meter from it from the last 21 years,it was a garden centre before the owners are the parents of the actual owners and we didn't have any saying for the changes !
This is a back Packer accomodation, and we can hear everything happening in the hostel . There is not enough parking available and the Sunshine school precinct is just 50 meters away !
We don't want any extensions to the actual size .

This Backpacker accomodation at 102 Pacific avenue has already extended to 104 and now has acquired 106 situated at the corner of Pacific avenue and Solvay drive ,they have in the past tried to purchase 100 Pacific avenue.
This has to stop ,the accomodations are only across the road from the Sunshine Beach Primary school.

Jean -Pierre please keep to the facts and not simply make 'hearsay comments' up. My family owns the site and operated Redwoods Garden Centre and Noosa Flashpackers since 1991. The hostel was properly advertised and approved by Council in 2009. It was open for public comment so you like others did write to Council and object. This similarly happened in 2018 when we applied to extend the hostel. Again open for Public comment. It was approved with strict conditions. Our adjoining property owners have my private phone number that they can contact me 24/7 with any issues or concerns. For the last 3 years I have received no calls. Please don't assume any noise you hear is related to Noosa Flashpackers. By the way, the young couple who purchased 108 Pacific Ave (the old vet) would not like you saying that we purchased their property. Simply not true! Again please read the application we submitted. There is no external physical changes to the existing buildings, moreover a change in a few rooms from single beds to double beds. We meet council parking requirements for the assessment but agree parking is an issue in the area and for that matter everywhere in Noosa. Finally, the school that our 4 children attended, has had absolutely no issues or concerns with our business whatsoever, so I really don't understand what you are trying to insinuate here. Sincerely, Warick Redwood.
