Please ensure that onsite parking requirements are met.

Developers claim it is not necessary to meet current requirements in order to minimise their costs, but residents in those areas pay the price because those who buy into those developments have cars they then use on street parking for.

It makes tight parking situations even worse - it doesn’t stimulate a reduction in car ownership.

If you want to see an example of the absolute nightmare the failure to provide adequate off street parking creates, try driving along Gadd Street between Leinster Grove and St George’s Road after 6 pm or on the weekends - there are so many cars parked on the street that only one car at a time can drive through.

Great outcome for developers, and an awful situation for everyone else.

Please look after the interests of all residents rather than developers who just want to maximise their profits.

Council must not continue to offer dispensation with reduced car spaces for medium to high density developments. It's commonly known many of residents in these dwellings have cars. A lack of on-site car spaces place vehicles on street parking, and causing challenges to existing residents and businesses.

Council must not support un-sustainable warehouse conversions where high vehicular and pedestrian traffic pose hazards and disruptions to already congested areas where previously zoned Industrial Areas now become Commercial Zones. There are now already 3 gyms in the 179 Beavers Road pocket and Council is supporting a fourth to the angst of business operators and residents in this area.

As others have stated, traffic and parking congestion are the primary problems created by these developments. The site must have parking for ALL apartments, including the 1-bedroom apartments. To suggest that single people don't have cars is ludicrous. Furthermore, there should be parking allocation for guests.
