My parents live on the street (Rasheed Avenue) and are in their 70's. By the looks of it, there is currently insufficient car parking at the site, and patrons attending the potential funeral home will clearly be parking on the street and nearby. This will be very unsafe for the residents when leaving their driveways as the street is busy enough as it is with traffic flowing through from Newton Road to Gorge Road. They do not want cars parked in front of their homes also due to safety reasons.
It will simply be a nuisance if a funeral home is to be leased here. Not only will it de-value the properties in the street, the use does not suit and is not practical in a residential area. We do not support this change of use at all and would appreciate if Council considers our request to ensure this does not proceed.
There will be a lot of angry and upset rate payers if it occurs.
