I really hope Council would not consider allowing a perfectly intact federation house to be demolished for a new modern structure that is not in keeping with the largely federations streetscape. It is not in the community's interest and would be an out of character addition while destroying a beautiful part of history in the form of its architecture. If the owners wish to expand their home they need to keep the front facade and build sympathetically behind it.

This is ridiculous, knocking down a perfectly good federation home that could be sympathetically updated, and putting in a swimming pool on a 270 sqm block. What a waste of resources. Bondi Beach is only a few kms away. Plus a garage taking street parking off everyone else.

Terribly sad that making money is allowed to take precedence over our beautiful historical buildings. Other countries take pride in their roots not destroy them. I understand that the NSW government currently has more power over our locale than our local Council. How can we reverse this situation so that this wanton destruction can be mitigated ? This should NOT be allowed to happen.

I object to this development Another beautiful 100 year old Federation house destroyed for an aspirational McMansion. The proposed development is visually unappealing, excessively bulky, there is virtually no landscaping and yet more grass and planting is being lost thus contributing to the heat island effect. It will require constant use of airconditioning. It is out character with the area. The amount of concrete used is environmentally unfriendly. There are very few heritage listed houses and if that is all that will be saved, Waverly will become an increasingly bland and featureless sea of concrete boxes.
