OBJECTION TO AMENDMENTS TO 92 BEACH ROAD BONDI BEACH
    DA REF : DA-340/2018/B

    To whom it may concern,

We submit our objection to amendments requested to a back dwelling that is being built on land at 92 Beach Rd, Bondi Beach. The recent design amendments to the back "studio" request large glass doors and windows that look directly into the back living area of 94 Beach Rd and also look up directly into our master bedroom on level 1 and into our living area and kitchen on the ground level at 90 Beach Rd. Additional glass windows/doors which can be left open and will be used frequency for access, will severely affect our privacy and will require us to keep our blinds closed at all times and will render our back balcony out of use. Our back decking/outdoor area will also be impacted with a lack of privacy. We trust that already approved DA conditions will ensure that this wall to wall back structure currently defined as a 'studio' is not used as a live-in bedroom / dual occupancy residence due to its extraordinary height at 3m+ and width on the land. The direction of the studio entrance facing back into our properties and its overall design is already larger than what was clear on original DA plans. We remain concerned that the current DA has allowed this 'studio' to sit directly against both fences on either side of the property without any space between the structure and the fence which is a requirement for all of our homes. We trust in good faith that this will be reviewed and rejected in the interests of current residents at 90 Beach Rd and 94 Beach Rd, Bondi Beach.

    Re: DA REF : DA-340/2018/B

How is it possible that by using the term 'shed' or 'outbuilding' in a development application for a construction clearly designed as accomodation, council can elect to ignore the long accepted standard of leaving a a metre of free space between the fence line and a solid building?

I empathise with Leilani and am facing a similar situation with a 'shed' construction if DA-50/2021 is approved. I do hope council rejects both of these applications.
