This is a native tree that is local to the area. Birds and wildlife use for food and habitat. No way should it be removed. If there is an issue with branches, then it can be lopped by a qualified arborist.

Please do not remove this native tree. We are in desperate need of more trees on the peninsula because our area is a heat trap. That is down to development and tree removal. Can plans be altered slightly? Can the tree simply be trimmed and accommodated? Trees add value in so many ways.

Removal of any significant habitat tree which is still healthy is tragic. Where are our clever designers that can incorporate a tree?
Removing a tree for a development is a lazy option. Saving it is a creative option.
If fear is the factor, remove the offending branches so that birds can still have a safe haven. Thank you.

This tree is a native and should not be removed. In other council areas this tree would be pruned and worked around. Is there an opportunity for this to happen with this tree?

The peninsula is already suffering from heat island effect due to the removal of so many trees and the ratio of concrete to green space.

All of us try to park our cars under the shade of few trees left here. I avoid walking to shops etc on hot days because the heat is unbearable. Imagine if we had tree lined streets that incorporated these existing native trees. What would it mean for the community: much needed relief from the sun- people venturing to shops and cafes ( boosting the economy) rather than timing their visits based on the heat of the day. Habitat for our iconic wildlife?

Is there any reason why the peninsula cannot be a leafy suburb like those in North Sydney?
