Despite being exotic trees, jacarandas still provide a great service by casting good dapple shade in our suburbs and lowering ambient temperatures.

Please ensure the applicant replaces the lost canopy by replanting on their property with a suitable native canopy tree.

There should be a requirement to prove survival with a smartphone photo 6 months after the tree is planted.

    Thank you.

Could the owner and council work around these trees? The loss of mature shade trees on the peninsula is adding to the heat island effect already experienced on the penninsula.

If these trees must be removed can you ensure that the canopy its inherent beneficial effects is replaced with additional suitable trees? Trees contribute to reducing ambient temperatures, offering residents shady areas to walk, park, and general livability of an area.
