I disagree with short term rentals in Noosa waters. The noise, extra vehicles on narrow streets and often speeding craft on the canals are not acceptable to our residential community.
We do not want to end up like Noosa sound with short term rentals causing residents to leave the area.

There has been so many short term rental applications made lately . Has Noosa Council learnt anything from Byron Shire Council? There is now no distinction between peak and off peak times . Fighting for parking space, congested streets and shopping strips. There is no reprieve from it anymore . Enough!

We live quite close to this proposal, across the water. We are starting to dread holiday times, especially Xmas and Easter as more properties appear to have short term renters in them. The noise carries easily and Noosa Waters could quite quickly become a nightmare place to live permanently.

  4. Allan Zion commented

Under no circumstances should short term rentals be allowed. It will destroy the peaceful, tranquil suburb which we all love, and the very reason why we chose to live here. Over December/January holiday makers renting in the area made life on the water dangerous and unbearable. No rules were obeyed. We even found syringes in the water. Please reject this proposal, and protect our lovely suburb.

WE DO NOT NEED SHORT TERM RENTALS IN A PERMANENT RESIDENTIAL ARREAR-GO TO WHERE HOLIDAY LETTING IS APPROVED

I, as a home owner and ratepayer, strongly disagree to short term rentals in Noosa Waters. It introduces people with barking dogs, hooning watercraft and extra noise and more vehicles in the area. There are hotels and other accommodation for holiday makers to use.

As a permanent resident of Noosaville, I strongly oppose short term rentals in Noosa Waters. Noosa Waters is a permanent residential area that is unable to cater for short term rentals. The land sizes in this area are not large enough to buffer consistent noise and disturbance to existing residents. It also raises serious security concerns for locals with constant disregard for residents and their privacy by holiday makers. Unfortunately the majority of these short term rentals in this area are let to large groups, either unknowingly or willingly.

  8. Lloyd Robertson commented

We strongly oppose short term rentals in any part of Noosa Waters - it was developed as a residential community and should remain so.
We have already experienced noise from this property which is so disruptive to our peaceful environment.

We retired to Noosa Waters 20 years ago for a peacefull retirement. But since the house next door has been converted to a Air B&B,we are living a nightmare.Every weekend there are Boozey parties, loud noise, dogs, screaming kids in the pool till all hours. We feel the Council should not permit this to happen in a residential area.

Noosa is a holiday area and always has been, don't move to the area then winge about it!

Bring on the holiday rentals Noosa waters is the perfect area for it. 90% of the people in the area aren't born and bred locals so they shouldn't have a say. Move back to where you came from if you don't like what Noosa is. Don't move here and try to change it.

I do not support short term holiday rentals in the residential estate of Noosa Waters it should remain as a residential estate, no short term holiday rentals as the issues created from this are very disruptive to the current resident's, i.e noise, car parking issues, incorrect use of watercraft in canals, and general lack of respect for the environment and area, as a result from short term holiday rentals.

This will be just another nail in the coffin of the Noosa lifestyle we have all worked so hard for. You cannot chastise people for celebrating on their holidays but the consequences of continual parties in rental properties is catastrophic for family life.
The Noosa Council must make a stand to preserve the lifestyle that we cherish.
Noosa offers a substantial amount of holiday apartments and resorts which should be suffice in keeping the local economy buoyant. I am sure that the members of the council would object to a short term holiday rental in their street.

Noosa Waters is RESIDENTIAL.....Dictionary says ....OCCUPIED BY PRIVATE HOUSES.
    NOT HOLIDAY STAYS.

We were able to stop shops being constructed in Shorehaven Drive years ago because the residents didn’t want or need them. Why can we not stop these holiday rentals
We are sick of all the extra cars in our narrow street and the owners long boat that has been parked since before Christmas on the street. We have elderly people finding it difficult to get out of the driveways safely and having trouble sleeping because of the party noise

I'm strongly against STA in all residential areas in Noosa. A house in our street has been let out for STA. There were SEVEN extra vehicles parked in our street for two weeks, people drinking on the footpath, parties until 3am through the week and overflowing garbage from bins blowing up the street. Our elderly neighbours had tears in their eyes talking about it. The one STA affected at least 10 households. We all spoke about it and will be voting out Councilors who support STA in any form within residential areas.

It’s shameful that this proposal is even being considered. Any council member that votes in favour of this proposal is oblivious to the harm that it causes our community. It brings bad behaviour to our waterways, it brings bad behaviour to our streets, it brings people to our area who have no respect for the wider community and it’s all because the property owner wants to make some money. I respectfully ask that this proposal, and any more like it, gets rejected !
