We do not need or want any more "short term accomodation" !

As Gabriela said 'No more short term accommodation"
The people in my street live in fear every time a house goes on sale, terrified that the house will become an Airbnb. Airbnb is destroying community's and residential areas.

There’s an enormous shortage of long-term rentals and the council have said they’re concerned about this. So why allow even more Airbnb to disrupt the lives of locals who live in quiet, residential areas, and decrease the likelihood of anyone renting a home in Noosa.

Allowing further holiday rentals is fostering the decline of the Noosa Community.
It also impacts the mental well-being of the permanent residents with the worry of ‘What will next weeks visitors be like?’

Quality of life should be paramount.
For those wishing to rent out their properties why not allow just long term rentals which are in high demand? That way nobody loses out.

I OPPOSE the above application, on the following grounds:

Noosa Plan2020 - rightly makes Short Term Accommodation an "inconsistent use" in the Low Density Residential Zone.
The subject property, 21 Nairana Rest, Noosa Heads, has been for years permanently occupied by the owner. That property has NO history of STA letting.

Based on the above the application for STA should be rejected.

For the sake of the resident's amenity & rights for a safe & peaceful life, please do not approve this application. Nairana Rest has traditionally been a residential street. Allowing holiday rentals in a Low Density Residential Zone is inconsistent with land use & is fostering the decline of the Noosa Heads Community.
The shire is struggling with a housing crisis. This property should be available for residents, not a STA.
Even the threat of another STA, let alone an approved one, impacts the mental well-being of the permanent residents with the worry of ‘What will next weeks visitors be like?’ Quality of life or residents should be paramount & put ahead of commercial interest.
