Extending hours of trading with liquor licensing on Glenhuntly Rd has in the past 3 years, created an unsavoury environment especially for residents who live in nearby residences.
11pm on weekdays is an open invitation to increasing noise from the venues and from patrons who decide to take their unruly behaviour outdoors. From the on-goings of venues already operating in the area, many exceed their curfew, exceed noise levels and make total nuisances of themselves. This has been an ongoing battle between residents and regulatory authorities for some years. Can council/ VCGLR please consider the lack of peace residents experience from such allowances. Are we rate-payers, not entitled the right to quiet in our neighbourhood?
Good Friday and Christmas are the remaining evenings where we are "sometimes" guaranteed a decent nights sleep. Allowing one proprietor to waive the regulations, opens the door for all other "bars" and "restaurants to follow suit.
Also please consider that as the population increases in the area, the more we see "entertainment venues" opening. It is therefore even more imperative that regulations for licensing and opening hours are more stringent than what they are already.
