Hi owners & Council: we live over the back area of your property and reckon the huge tree will be demolished like all the others on “the fish streets”! Is there a chance the tree(s) can be kept or at least pruned back for this project for the sake of the last decent bit of shade and place for birds to hang out? Take a look at Google Earth and see how desolate these streets are with max density housing. Council: Where are the street trees?

    Yes-
Pleaaaase could you consider some pruning rather than removing the tree. Ettalong is the hottest suburb on the Central Coast because all of the trees have been removed and the amount of development and concrete.
The trees provide so much relief from the heat and habitat for birds.

Can I also add, trees add value in more ways than one. Not only do they provide shade and reduce heat, they also provide habitat, and also they add $. value to the area and property values. Please consider keeping the trees and pruning them if required.

The tree in question has already fallen on a unit and crashed thru the roof endangering lives. Are all "you save this tree " people prepared to live under a potential life threatening situation moving yourself to a safer room everytime there is a storm .
The answer is to make council plant trees on the roadside verges providing shade to walk and bird habitat

Simon Ashlanding, I totally agree with you. I think people should do a little more research into matters regarding removal of trees for example! Dangerous! Termites! Rotten and let’s not forget the neighbors who complain about branches hanging over their fences or leaves in their gutters or pools . Trees are great for the bird life and environment also shade but they can also be detrimental to underground water pipes. Progress is inevitable some trees will be removed, some trees will remain, some new trees will be planted. A little research goes a long way. Brad Booker Bay
