I object to this development This was advertised as an incredible freestanding circa 1900's house set on a 545sq. The developer seeks to demolish this 1916 freestanding family home to build a duplex development is a modern flat roofed construction, effectively three stories including the basement. The development contrasts strongly with all other buildings in the street. It does not protect the amenity of residents, does not encourage housing affordability and does not sit comfortably within the streetscape. IT has been insensitively designed to clash with the existing streetscape of traditional Randwick residences.
The design is not sensitive in any way to the streetscape and does not achieve an appropriate built form in relation to the context of the immediate locality. The developers seek to destroy yet more heritage of Randwick and yet another freestanding art deco building will be destroyed by this development.
The proposed scale, form and design of the additions are not sympathetic and consistent with the character and form of development in the street. The development involves significant excavation to create basements which has the potential to significantly impact on neighbouring properties.
The proposed height, setbacks, massing, building material choice, colour of finishes and design of the buildings combined together will not positively respond to the surrounding context. The use and buildings are of a scale and intensity which will result in unreasonable amenity impacts on the neighbouring properties.

The proposal fails to provide adequate landscaping opportunities consistent with the area's character, removes existing vegetation and therefore adversely impacts the environment of Randwick
