Once again a development proposes to exceed the LEP height in the Maroubra beach area, giving the potential owners a windfall profit because of enhanced views, (to the detriment of their neighbours and everyone else). Of course the street view diagrams don't show this exceeding height, you only see the complying parts. the proposal attempts to provide an answer to:
"a) Justify why compliance with the development standard is unreasonable or unnecessary in the circumstances of the case;"
By referring to the fact that other developments have exceeded the height limit.
the application also fails to : "Detail why there is no public benefit in maintaining the development standard."

Randwick Council please consider the toll this development will have on the parking situation so close to the beach for those who live in the street (given a lot of individual properties have two vehicles) as well as the nightmare the development of this land will pose on traffic during the time of construction. This is a low density residential area and the last thing we need so close to the beach are more apartments with more traffic and more demand on on-street parking spots. As the previous writer noted - we especially don't want or need any further properties exceeding the local height restrictions. Let's please stop long term problems for our local community to satisfy short term gains for the developers.

We have LEPs. Please RCC enforce them. Once they're exceeded it will be a free for all.
