Great for the area! Need more residential/commercial spaces to grow and provide employment opportunities for our small but developing local community

With a school servicing a growing population this development will inhibit the drop off and collection of children in a safe and timely manner. I am concerned not only by the ongoing increase in traffic after the build but also the disruption to children and the school during the building process. Increase in noise, lack of parking for parents collecting children and also the safety of thise children who walk. This land would have been better utilsed as parkland with additional parking facilities for the school.

Increased traffic will cause major problems to parking and school drop off and pick up. More needs to be done to address this, overall impact to the school and surrounding infrastructure is greater then what it can currently cope with.

As a current resident and rate payer of Tullimbar with children attending Tullimbar public school it is truly frustrating that there is already a lack of parking, lack of foot paths, lack of kiss and drop spaces abundance of traffic and every single point of entry to the school means children that come to school by foot must cross multiple intersections. These are primary aged children that do not have the matured cognitive function and risk assessment abilities to make judgements around crossing busy intersections. It is not an option for my children to walk as there is not one single way for them to get to school that does not involve crossing multiple intersections, the foot paths have been destroyed by houses being built and never repaired or the alternative is that there is no foot path and we must walk on the road. But yet the solution is apparently to cram more houses in, take away the very limited parking and increase traffic to the school. It's really mind boggling how councillors think this is acceptable. Would it be acceptable for their own children or grandchildren? When will considerate and well thought out town planning be not negotiable.

I 100% agree with the above comment by Jacinta Sneddon. I have the same frustrations. I have been a rate payer in this LGA for over 12 years and watched the area grow which is fine and part of keeping the economy running, what is not fine however is the lack of forethought this council has whatsoever and seemingly getting worse!
Not only safety concerns for pedestrians, children and adults alike (where I have personally witnessed adults being hit by cars) but cars being scratched by other cars and buses as the streets are just unacceptable for everyone to fit safely. On Tuesday the 27th October at 08.40am I had to mount the gutter in my small car (Ford Focus) on the intersection of Sophia Street & Broughton Avenue so a bus could turn past me to physically fit down the street. Just the next day on Wednesday the 28th October the exact same thing happened at the same intersection. Cars and buses narrowly missing eachother all day. I am within walking distance to the school and would love to walk but I find it very frightening with a 3yr old and an 8yr old to be able to safety get to and from school on foot. So I will continue to drive and if my car gets damaged I know who's insurance ill be claiming it under- Not Mine!
