I object to the removal of the iron bark tree. It is a major native tree that is an aesthetic part of the Baroona streetscape and provides shade and habitat to native species.
The arborist report states that appropriate repair of structural elements would avoid the need to remove it.
The design of the rigid concrete driveway and the brick fence ignored the presence of the large tree and its spread of root system. This oversight is the reason for the damage.
The high cost of tree removal and its replacement would be better spent repairing the damage appropriately.
