Todman Avenue cannot handle the extra traffic associated with a 19 storey building.
Residents on the western side of Anzac Parade will have difficulty using Todman Avenue to cross Anzac Parade and also increased traffic will impact travelling from Todman to Doncaster. A 19 storey building must be rejected.

This project is supposedly all student accommodation. It will do nothing for the community but will bring in hundreds of temporary residents. It will increase traffic, congestion, cause overshadowing and wind tunnels. Very poor planning.

Please start making decisions that benefit residents, not developers. Please keep the current height limits of 10 storeys, increase the parking per unit, remove the boarding house style accommodation in favour of apartments.

Please get the counselors making these decisions to kindly disclose any donations and gifts they are receiving from developers and any self interest as it is hard to understand how they justify the decisions they are making.

This is actually just one of 3 separate but related DAs for huge boarding house tower blocks of 19 stories to be located on the corners of Anzac Parade and Todman Avenue. I believe they are all from the same developer which specialises in student housing and has investment from overseas sovereign wealth funds among others. The 3 tower blocks would concentrate something like 1000 students in total in this one small area. The fourth corner is occupied by a 7-11 garage otherwise presumably there would be a DA in for a tower on that one too. The whole scheme is a horrendous prospect for the residents of the area. All 3 proposed buildings are double the height of the tallest buildings in the area. Most of the surrounding buildings are 2 to 4 and at the most 6 stories high so these new buildings would be completely out of keeping. The studio rooms in the towers are clearly intended for rent to students at the UNSW in Kingsford. These 3 related development proposals treat Kensington as a mere dormitory area for that establishment. Please Randwick Council do not allow this massive over-development scheme.

We don’t want these ridiculously tall boarding houses. It’s not in keeping with the rest of the area and will lead to further overcrowding, congestion, lack of parking, over shadowing of current residential properties.

How about shifting focus to long term accommodation for long term residents like professionals and families.

NO TO SCAPE & OTHER BOARDING HOUSES

    Just pointing out the obvious,
To allow such an oversized student accommodation development owned by foreign interests could mean that income typically generated by foreign student rent would no longer benefit our local community but instead leave our shores and benefit other countries.

I’ve seen it happen in other countries where locals miss out by large developments that then siphon out wealth from communities.

this is not necessary for our community

we don't need this and it will cause chaos

At the 3 corner sites at Anzac Parade and Todman Avenue that are the subject of 3 separate applications for the Scape tower block boarding houses development that I believe is known as Todman Square all the buildings are now empty and there are painted crosses and lines on some of the windows that make it look as if they're earmarked for demolition. I see that the developers have already been given permission to demolish one of these sites which used to house the local pharmacy and low rise apartment blocks and the ground floor windows have recently been boarded up. There is also a large pink Scape sign up at street level on the Todman Avenue side of the building at 172 Anzac Parade. It looks as if they expect to be given planning permission by Randwick Council. This is really bad news for the area.

The 3 towers are an abuse of Kensington and its residents. Make the development proper residential and limit the stories to be in keeping with the apartments already lining the Parade.

No doubt if these four towers go ahead there will be political backflash by the time of completion that would extend beyond Kensington and possibly an investigation.

These are nice heritage buildings that will be destroyed by badly built defective unit towers thanks for the tram
