I am not opposed to the owner subdividing. I am however, concerned that conditions of consent must be adhered to. Trees 1-8 are noted as requiring tree protection zones. However trees 4 and 5 will be removed for driveways? I expect that the trees not required for driveways are protected. I would expect that these trees are protected from removal under 10/50 legislation once the homes are built. These trees would not be a fire hazard, rather removal would be for other reasons and I would not want to see this occur. The line of trees at present, extends from the tennis court right around the Mt Wilga property and is a feature of the planned garden of the Mt Wilga estate. To destroy this would be a major concern.
I also note that: "A minimum of twelve medium to large trees selected from Council’s booklet ‘Indigenous Plants for the Bushland Shire’ such as Turpentine are to be planted at equal spacing along the southern side boundary of the adjacent site at No. 2A Manor Road, as shown in red on the Landscape Plan prepared by Hornsby Shire Council dated 26 July 2017". I expect that this is adhered to and council keeps the developers accountable to this.
Furthermore, I would expect design excellence and sympathetic designs for the site when houses are considered for the subdivisions. The latest development on this site is not sympathetic to the Mt Wilga house and has not adhered to conditions of consent nor met the demands of the NSW heritage council. I have asked council numerous times about this. I hope that council is more dliligent with the latest subdivision.
Also do ensure that when the new residents turns into their new driveways from a curve in Manor Road that accidents do not occur.
