This is a Carter estate cottage design, and although it may not be in the heritage overlay, it would be a real detriment to the surrounding area if it were demolished. The architecture of other new townhouses in the area are unremarkable at best. It further contributes to the dumbing-down of a pretty neighbourhood.

Also, three dwellings is surely one too many on a plot this size.

Wedge St has been a street since 1870, with most of the houses being built between the 1930’s and 1970’s. The council has information available on the Carter Crescent heritage precinct, including the Carter Avenue precinct which states the area is ‘unusual because it is brick whereas every other visible house in 1938 is timber’.

To my knowledge a lot of the homes have heritage overlay. The council’s purpose of that overlay is to ‘ensure that heritage places are conserved and enhanced, and that development does not negatively impact the significance of the heritage place’.

I am an owner of a Carter home and love the look of my local area. This part of Werribee is unique, not only because it is one of the few older established areas but also the houses are cottage in style, an appealing look for inner Werribee, now and in the years to come. Therefore the very close surrounds should remain reflective of that, and the financial and aesthetic benefits of Werribee’s history is enhanced and preserved.

I feel it doesn’t matter who
Or how many object to the over crowding of the centre and surroundings of Werribee
Obviously council has a major wand and can fix our overcrowding problems that are going to get worse due to the fact they are passing all these applications to enable multiple dwellings .
Please , no more the centre and just outside the centre of Werribee does have some character and you are destroying it by allowing some and one of the wealthiest councils in Victoria to profit
The original brief for this area was a single dwelling that means two possibly three cars onto our already busy roads , two possibly 4 children into schools
Yet three houses would be 12 potential cars , 12 school
    Spaces
You are not future proofing Wyndham by any means
