I object to this large development
There is no place for this in our green wedge

Six dwellings on a suburban block which presently has only one single house is overkill. This development will generate at least six extra cars and Cecil St is already narrow with car parking restricted to one side. Despite this ,moving cars pass each other with difficulty. Many local drivers use Cecil St to make use of traffic lights at the western end to drive north to Research etc.
Many drivers also use Cecil St to reach BibleSt to bypass Main Rd at peak hours.
Please reconsider allowing so many dwellings on this relatively small site.

I second the comments made by Katherine Kingsbury.
I would like to add that Cecil St is particularly busy during school drop off/pick up times as Eltham East Primary School is nearby.
The only way that extra traffic could be tolerated would be to remove all parking in the street which would greatly impact current residents.
I personally make use of the traffic lights at the Cecil St Main Rd intersection when leaving the shopping precinct.
It is inappropriate for Council to schedule a traffic count which might in any way help determine an outcome for the inevitable appeal during the current Pandemic situation because normal traffic conditions do not apply.

I object to this overdevelopment 6 units on such a small block is over the top .Parking in Cecil st is very difficult with the railway car parks full people use Cecil st which is always full and hard to drive down 6 to 12 more car from this development will only make matters worse. It isn't fare on the existing residents I also object to all the trees being removed from this block before planning was lodged with council to make it easier to get consent

This application is inappropriate and out of character with the street, and is pure greed by the developer. We are not inner Melbourne, and this sort of density proposal should not be allowed.

Allowing construction of six dwellings on a block in Cecil St that is 746m2 would demonstrate complete lack of respect for the character of the neighbourhood.
It would also contribute to the existing traffic problems. Cecil St functions as a car park and its proximity to public transport means that here are usually no parking places left after about 8am (or even earlier). The traffic is constant, but is particularly bad at school drop off and pick up times. Many drivers speed down Cecil St, possibly trying to catch the lights at the Cecil St/Main Rd intersection, an intersection that is already problematic. Six dwellings would probably mean another six cars at least would be added to the existing problems.
There may be a case for some smaller dwellings in Eltham but downsizing is not just about the size of the dwelling.
