This single fronted site currently has 1 dwelling. The proposal to replace it with 11 double storey dwellings is rampant over-development in a residential street which already has congested parking and dangerous traffic conditions. East Bentleigh does not have train or tram services, and the bus service along Centre Road is regularly at a near stand-still due to congestion. Malane Street will be made even more dangerous by the additional traffic and on-street parking created by this development. Glen Eira Council does not need this eleven-fold increase in dwellings to meet its urban density targets. The prospect of further pressure on neighbourhood amenity, parking, traffic flow and the delivery of Council services including rubbish collection and street sweeping should be considered ahead profits for developer.

Bit difficult to comment on this planned development, when the Plan is NOT available to view on The Council Website. Suffice to say that on the face of what has been supplied, it would appear to be far in excess of all existing dwellings in Malane Street.

Just to many dwelling!. Look around. Its destroying the character. And consider how many cars will be on the street. 11 dwelling x 2 car each house= 22 cars / 11 cars on the street parking! And 11 bins. I just can’t imagine how the garbage bin truck even drive pass through. How dangerous it is for resident to drive through. Council should not approve this many dwelling.

This building has destroyed the view from my property and appears to have exceeded height restrictions for the area .It is still under construction with a lift shat so can only assume the level is going up .
My property was only bought for my view and I was assured there was a height restriction in the area . I can now not go out on my balcony without seeing workers who during Covid restrictions are not working with the current limit restrictions .
If my view is disturbed who is going to compensate fir the devalue of my property
