I am all for updating the old and run down houses on the pacific highway for newer more modern apartments/townhouses.

However, if you are going to keep approving such developments serious, serious, thought has to be put into making sure all the local amenities are available so we aren't forced to keep travelling to different districts just to pick up milk.

There is lots of potential for building local groccers/ IGA/woolworths/cafes to ensure that the residents are fully catered to.

I agree, I think Hornsby Council should look at the European models of housing where they think beyond just the living accommodation. They allow for bakeries, small supermarkets, hairdressers and pharmacies to be built to create ease and access for the residents but also reduce the traffic to the bigger shopping centres. I think in Australia the focus is to build ugly concrete blocks to house desperate buyers rather than any thought towards proper planning and living standards for people. As residents we deserve better and it is time the councils stepped in to stop these nasty apartments and poky townhouses from being built. We deserve better.

Well said by all neighbours! I agree 100% there is an urgent need of facilities ( plaza or shopping mall) in Asquith My Colah area. At the moment there is 1 coles in Asquith, 1 Aldi in My Colah- what else? Assuming there will be huge population growth due to massive apartment boom in this area, it's just a no brainer authorities haven't thought that so far?
