The link to "Read more information" is not working at the moment. Here is the development application: https://plan.sa.gov.au/have_your_say/notified_developments/current_notified_developments/submission?aid=1592. If this application is approved, it will most likely have adverse ramifications to all residents in Mitcham and surrounding councils with neighbours on sloping blocks who do not want to build appropriately to the contours of the block but want level houses and level gardens and massive retaining walls on the boundaries to retain the massive amounts of soil inappropriately brought to the block to level it and make the neighbours suffer with ugliness, loss of light and views, and difficulty growing plants to hide the wall's ugliness.

On the eastern boundary the natural ground levels fall by 3.6m from the street to the back boundary. The previous house was split-level but the new house that has been approved is flat and 1.3m below the street. The builder has applied for a retaining wall of up to 2.1m high with a fence of 1.8m totally 3.9m which is so mean and cruel to the neighbour by taking away all of his western views. I would like to know why the owner doesn't hire landscapers who are skilled with designer gardens on slopes and I would know why he is being so cruel to his new neighbours.

On the western side, the retaining wall proposed is up to 1.9m high with a fence of 1.8m high totally 3.7m high thus blocking all of the neighbour's views of the hills. I would like to know why Council did not say no straight away due to it's cruelty and inappropriateness and instead they are now putting the neighbours under a massive amount of distress.

We do not want our foothills and hills to be covered with level houses and level gardens with massive retaining walls and fences.

I have asked the moderator to remove my comment seeing it is no longer relevant as the owner of 11 Pulleine Avenue Netherby demolished the property and then sold it. I have also asked the moderator to remove Ej's comment because it is so untrue and hurtful.
