With this notification Inner West Council has exceeded its past record levels of non-information - not only has it failed to upload the application documentation but the summary provided is completely incomprehensible.
"Alterations additions & outbuildings dwells only" - what does this actually mean?

I thought it was just me who couldn't see any information. Glad to see it was council ineptitude. What is the point of this notification??

Marrickville has been failing to post the documentation at the same time as the DA notice. For years now. It’s unacceptable that this continues as they should all be posted at once, as they are with other inner west DAs. The more you complain the sooner they fix this failure in government.

There is no information on this DA202000008, and the notification is not in comprehensible English. How can one accept or publish a DA notification without supporting documentation?

  5. Joeo commented

I’m with you on that Adrian.
It’s a shame that after amalgamation Marrickville DAs done come with the documentation.
What is the point of announcing a da when the documents are unavailable!!
Join me in insisting a DA is not validly made public without corresponding documentation. If Leichardt and other absorbed Council’s can do it why is Marrickville incapable of doing so. Even in the many years since amalgamation but also in the Past 2 years? They used to be up at the same time! Why is it no longer happening?? I thought the whole point of amalgamation was to pool systems and resources.

If its often happening that DA documents arent published online with the notification then its a breach of the planning legislation. Perhaps complain to the Internal Ombudsman at Inner west council.

I would suggest to those not happy with Inner West Council concerning the insufficient information provided on DA's, to contact and complain to the NSW Ombudsmen Office. https://www.ombo.nsw.gov.au/
They investigate government departments including local councils.

    Good point Steve P.
I’ve complained to councillors, I’ve complained to the head planner, I’ve complained to the mayor.

Next step is to turn it up a notch so they can at least provide a service that isn’t WORSE than it was 2 years ago.

Today I got this email from Council - I have replied asking why the system does not allow simultaneous posting as many people have been requesting for some time:
    Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your comment. The documentation is now available on Council’s website.
Please note that applications appear on the Planning Alerts web page shortly after the details are entered into our system. Documentation is unlikely to be available straight away, but once the documentation is uploaded in our system and can be made available on Council's web page, it will be.
    Kind regards,

The same boilerplate response has been sent out by Council many times (and posted here), failing to acknowledge that the documentation often fails to appear in time for review.
