The old adage "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission". This is typical of this development which is one house away from ours and has made our life hell. The builders got to above ground level, then decided they forgot to take levels and had to bring in the heavy equipment and smash down a couple of floors to the bottom basement level. The original noise and dirt was horrific but this seemed even worse as the concrete had steel reinforcement. For 6 days a week we haven't been able to go outside because of the noise and dust. A horn is sounded regularly for machinery and crane movements, sometimes for a minute at a time. Now they have dug up the road out the front of our place to put stormwater pipes from this development to the creek. We sometimes can't get into our driveway and the dust is ridiculous. Don't let these cowboys get away with anything else. Fine them handsomely as they just do whatever they like. I believe they have been fined many times - they don't care - just add it to the price of a unit. I wouldn't buy one of these units if you paid me. Disgraceful. I also deeply resent that we nearby have had to make all the sacrifices while this unit block has been built. We have received nothing but dust, disruption and noise.

Surely it can't be legal to let stormwater pipes empty into the creek. Could Council please look into this?

My heart goes out to Kate and her family. What a disgrace when people buy into a lovely suburban street and this is what happens!
