This cottage dwelling is a building of local significance and one of only a handful of that era still standing, It is I understand "Designated a Place of local significance" UNDER The Cairns plan and should be protected and not demolished, this area with the tennis club and Q.C.W.A. Hall should be looked upon as a local gem but has already suffered a redevelopment blight with the approved destruction of the Freshwater Pub/Hotel which was located near the Freshwater Railway Station and replaced by a Child Care Business which has done nothing to enhance the visual aspect of the area for visitors to the railway station.
