I recommend asking a qualified arborist to prune any branches that are dead or particularly dangerous. In general the advantages of eucalypts in the yard are that they provide some shade and help your garden not be too hot over the summer. Please dont remove the tree unecessarily!

I object to the removal of this tree, especially for the reasons given, without an arborist report and evidence to substantiate any risks. Maybe a pruning is all that is required.
Life is full of risks. Using the same argument given in this application to remove the tree it can be said that all cars should be removed from the roads because they may hit a child. Flights should be cancelled as they may crash. Many Australian children have grown up under Eucalyptus trees in the Eastwood/Epping area for many years. Statistically there have been very few (if any) injuries. Surely most children are smart enough to know how to avoid the odd branch that might fall. A few leaves in the backyard will not hurt anyone. What evidence/research is there to show injuries will occur - surely this assumption is just fear and speculation.
Trees have kept Eastwood/Epping cooler and more attractive places in which to live. They are the reason why many people choose to live here. There are a number of other hotter suburbs without trees where people live in houses with constant air-conditioning. These suburbs are more suitable for people who fear and do not appreciate trees.
The City of Parramatta (City) has a responsibility to preserve the leafiness/temperature of its suburbs for all LGA residents who enjoy and benefit from the trees and not to just cater for a few people who don't understand the value of trees and want to destroy our leafy suburbs. I suggest these people are provided with education about the value and importance of trees rather than disadvantage 10,000s of other residents by unnecessary tree removal.
The draft Local Strategic Planning Statement and related documents clearly show the City has identified the need to increase the tree canopy and that trees are important to 'Turn down the Heat'. These goals will never be achieved if every Eucalyptus tree is removed due to people not understanding how to manage their trees.
Should it be that this tree is removed then it should be replaced with a similar sized or larger tree.
