I believe that the construction of a 5-storey residential flat building would be extremely inappropriate in a suburban area such as Mile End that is primarily composed of single and double-storey houses. The building is far too tall for the area and would tower over surrounding houses, causing significant visual pollution. It is possible that the building could cast a shadow on surrounding homes and increase noise pollution in the vicinity. Personally, I also find the design to be very visually displeasing and quite distasteful. Despite claims form the developer that the design references the surrounding character homes, I think it looks out of place and feel it would significantly compromise the distinct historic fabric of the neighbourhood. I am also concerned that the construction of such a large apartment would set a bad precedent and encourage similar developments in the area. This would destroy the suburban character of the area. In short, I think the plan should be rejected as it is far too large and out of sync with the surrounding homes.

I agree with Charles Gilchrist's comments.

This would be terrible. It would not fit with the area and would have a negative effect on the area while providing no positives.
