    To whom it may concern,

I am the owner of the adjacent residential property that closely adjoins the premises mentioned in this application.
The applicants newly renovated outdoor area is adjacent to 14 residential properties (Units) built 2010.
The submission has several statements that should be considered by The City of Greater Geelong.

Firstly this application suggests family orientated.
Majority of fish and chip businesses target families in aid of grabbing a percentage of the fast food industry. Majority of fast food businesses don’t support the sale of alcohol.
Fish and chip shops that do not have indoor dining, McDonald’s, KFC and Red Rooster do not have liquor licenses.

The mention of parking should have no merits on obtaining a alcohol license.
With the mention of family orientated business prevention of drink driving should be considered.

The mention of adjacent businesses with liquor licenses.
The other two businesses close by serving alcohol in The Terrace Ocean Grove do not have residential premises that adjoin them.
The businesses also both have large indoor dining areas.
A major concern re patrons is.
A large majority of the patrons are young and underage beach goers.
This application may encourage patrons to consume food and stay for a longer period of time just drinking.
Especially if the price of liquor sold is considerably low and easily accessed.

It is a concern that in this seaside town there is not enough enforcements to control the sale of alcohol to underage patrons.
Consideration should be given where an older patron purchased liquor for a larger group of younger patrons.

Consideration should also be given if younger staff could also be forced to sell alcohol during the busy peak season.
Staff over the summer peak season may also be junior casual staff.
Not enough care in asking for age ID when business is busy.
Entry to this business is via two doors and an extra entry from the street to the outdoor eating area which could make it very difficult to control customers leaving with alcohol.

    The applicants stated that
rubbish bins may be supplied but the applicants have previously been known to not dispose of seafood in rubbish bins correctly over the busy hot summer period. Leaving fowl odours.
The supply of rubbish bins are always overflowing over the peak summer season.
Late removal of bins and and excess noise has also been a an issue not to mention the noise which will result from liquor bottles being disposed of.
Ocean Grove echoes off the sea so such noise may concern a larger number of residents in near by streets.

    The statement regarding music.
We have never heard music being played at this venue / outdoor area.
With a liquor license the venue would then encourage a larger number of patrons gathering in the yard drinking late.
Business trading hours are very different to what is stated in the application.
Usually the business is closed around 9 pm
A liquor license suggests the applicants are requesting more of a night venue atmosphere.
Finally the application classes itself as a cafe / restaurant when it is only an outdoor eating area with no indoor seating.
This fish and chip shop is a great place to grab fish and chips for all ages and families.
    Enjoy the sunshine and leave.
I believe the sale of alcohol is not required at this business.

As a local i support this application for a liquor licence, this business has always been professional in its day to day business. Other fish and Chips shops have sold alcohol such as Gilligan's Fish and Chips in Barwon Heads and the Chicken Shop etc. It would be nice to have a glass of wine with your meal. I for one are looking forward to dining at Ocean View Fish and Chips with a glass of wine or beer. Having been a customer at this establishment for a number of years i would say most if not all staff are adults, the comments above by previous person make no sense. There are several establishments in main st with residence above and there are no issues in Ocean Grove with alcohol being served. Thanks
