I am supportive of the development of 7 George St Thirroul. The proposed development is inline with the expectations of R3 zoning (mixed development) and is compliant with the specifics of Wollongong's development guidelines. Furthermore, the house is old, known to contain asbestos and potentially lead paint. In the interests of community health it should be demolished and replaced with a more modern abode. The surrounding houses already demonstrate the kind of housing expected within R3 (e.g. those at 386-388 Lawrence HG). The proposed development provides dedicated garages for the two properties so parking is not a concern, particularly given the carpark in Seafoam St.
