    I object, please stop cutting down trees! Council is now aware of the heat island effect that progressive removal of the urban canopy has caused. Please do not allow this to continue.

    Matt’s comments are correct.
    Unless this tree is dead or dying, can the owners consider pruning this tree? Older black butts can drop branches but can be managed.
    If this tree comes down, can a replacement tree be planted? It is an important timber source however so there may be some interest in the logs by wood turners so it’s not wasted.
    Another idea (if the tree is dead) is to keep the trunk and set it up as a habitat tree for high perches & nesting boxes for birds?
