Best air show because it’s local

  2. Eric Collier commented

The planning permits required to enable the 2020 Air Show to proceed must be granted without further delay. The Air Show is supported by the vast majority of residents in the Tyabb and surrounding areas, and brings immediate economic and financial benefits to the district. Further benefits from the Air Show include substantial donations to local charities. Any perceived environmental or social impacts from the Air Show are limited to a single day once every two years, and do not persist after the conclusion of the Air Show. The Aero Club has demonstrated many times previously that they have the capability and capacity to deliver a successful biennial event. The Mornington Peninsula Shire must take all steps to co-operate with the Aero Club to deliver this important showcase event.

Definetly should be permitted as a matter of urgency! This airshow is very good for the local area!

I love this show its such a boost for the community and puts Tyabb on the map, once people visit they come back to explore our beautiful mornington peninsula An annual event that we can be proud of .

  5. Peter Kelly commented

This event is one of the key reasons I bought a home in Tyabb
Please support this important community event.

The airshow must go ahead. I am but one of many people from outside the Tyabb area who will make the trip for the day, and with it comes the money I will spend both at the airshow, and in town.

The air show must go ahead I have been going every second year it is on it makes it that much better being so close to home and it is a huge event to put tyabb on the map! Charities and the community all benefit from this event.

I want to buy a house and live in Tyabb because of the airfield and associated activities including the airshow.

  10. Crashley commented

Great news we love going to the air show and am so glad it is on again we were worried it was going to be canceled
Well done to everyone for making it happen

  11. Michael Pover commented

The permit should be granted straight away. It’s by far the best country airshow in Australia. And it provides a large amount of money for local charities. Not to mention the boost for the local business over that weekend. Big thumbs up here.

  12. Daz Barnfield commented

The Peninsula Aero Club has demonstrated many times that they have the capability and capacity to deliver an extremely successful biennial event. This event provides much needed funding to the local community and businesses in and around Tyabb area. As a local resident for the past 46 years it is imperative that the Mornington Peninsula Shire take the appropriate steps to work with the Aero Club to deliver this important event.

  13. David roberts commented

Can’t wait for this iconic event to be once again hosted at this fantastic establishment

  14. Paul Lucas commented

Great for the Tyabb community. Tyabb needs all the financial support and good publicity it can get. This event does both.

  15. Frank Deeth commented

I’ve had the pleasure to attend the Tyabb Airshow on two previous occasions. It is obvious the airshow is welcomed by the vast majority of residents in the Tyabb and Mornington Peninsular area. IMHO, it is by far the best staged aviation event in Victoria. This doesn’t happen overnight however. Many months of planning by dedicated volunteers are sacrificed to make sure the event is a safe and successful one. To ensure this great tradition continues I urge the MPSC to issue the necessary approvals without delay. All the best to PAC and the Tyabb community as a whole for a safe and successful event.

This is the wrong venue for an airshow. Thousands of people potentially in the danger zone of a major crash. Council would be liable in the event of an accident if the approved this. Key objections

    1. Majority of pilots they have are private pilots. Low qualifications and not commercial standard
2.The planes are maintained some to low or EXPERIMENTAL standard and prone to accidents
    3. The public viewing area is too dangerous and there is no immediate escape for thousands in event of accident or fire.

I have been a resident and emergency services worker (multi agency) in the immediate area since 1985.
The Tyabb Air Field and Airshow have been large contributors to the region bringing work, income, entertainment and lifestyle!
The unique bi annual show at Tyabb rates, in my experiences, better than the Avalon International Airshow in so many ways!
    The show must go on!!
    Thanks PAC and all involved.

A great local community event that attracts thousands of people to the area and generates interest for young people in an industry (aircraft maintenance and flying) that needs them for its future. This needs to be approved 👍👍

  19. Norm Edmunds commented

Tyabb Airshow is a major fundraiser for local charities who really need the financial support that the airshow brings once every two years.
The organisers have many years experience running a safe airshow.
The pilots are all seasoned airshow pilots following all applicable air safety requirements, in aircraft that are maintained in accordance with CASA requirements for their specific types.
Tyabb Airshow is known right around the country and overseas.
I support the Tyabb Airshow 2020.

  20. Frank Andrewartha commented

I hope the airshow can go ahead. My family attends it biannually and its gravity is such that there are many attendees coming from quite a distance including interstate. It would be a loss on many levels if it does not proceed. I do not understand why such a long standing event is being obstructed by what appears to be an intransigent council group.

  21. Alistair Tonkin commented

The Tyabb Airshow rates highly as a great airshow and brings people from all over to the small community , it punches well above its weight compared to bigger events because of the many volunteers who drive it .
Its a great drawcard for the region , showcasing Australian and International Aviation history
For future generations to learn from and enjoy
I cant imagine Tyabb without it

  22. Jeff Bailey commented

I support the PAC fully and look forward to the air show as many others do. It seems very odd that this year there is so much bureaucracy involved ? I can not see why the MPSC are making it so difficult this year. Do they have a dislike of the PAC and its fund raising activities for charities.

  23. I Johnson commented

I fully support the PAC and their airshow, The permit must be approved without any further delay to remove all uncertainty. MPSC should also be actively encouraging PAC with the operation of their Airport, it is a vital community asset.

  24. Jason Page commented

The air show is such an important asset to the community and I’m looking forward to attending it again next year. MPSC need to provide more support for the event.

  25. Gary Pearce commented

    We cannot wait!
My family, children & grand children always enjoy the day at the Tyabb Airshow.
We are so lucky to have such a great facility on the Mornington Peninsula.
I learnt to fly there and my grandson now hopes he can learn there too.

I have had the pleasure to attend the Tyabb Airshow on a number of occasions. It is well-run with the appropriate eye to safety. It’s a great community event that supports local groups & businesses. It’s just a travesty that people who know little about aviation are scare-mongering and spreading inaccuracies. The planning permit should be granted forthwith.

  27. James R commented

I’m a local resident and I’m very supportive of this event proceeding for the local Tyabb and greater Mornington Pen community.

  28. John scorse commented

Total support for this not for profit organisation!
Great event recognised world wide and a great benefit to tyabb township!

Still in disbelief at the actions of Mornington peninsula shire council over the past months! Council should be dismissed for incompetence!
And maybe a closer look should be had into matters of corruption!

  29. Janet Adams commented

Glad to see it’s back. It’s an awesome event.

  30. Geoffrey Lloyd commented

I look forward to this event as I'm sure a lot of people do.

I've been to this Airshow a number of times, and it's always great! Glad it's on again in 2020!

  32. Nick Humphris commented

Totally support the Tyabb Airshow and the PAC . Missed the last one due to ill health and was counting on being at next years and was disturbed to find it might not have happened . So many classic historical aircraft based there !

  33. Andy Murray commented

Im a red hill resident and have been a peninsula resident for 18 years...its so good to have a airfield on the peninsula and I always look forward to the airshow.
Its fantastic that the aero club support charity and the event brings in tourists from all over Vic and interstate.
long live the airshow and long live the continued operation of the Tyabb airfield

  34. Michele & Tony Guest commented

The air show at tyabb airfield should definitely go ahead. This show puts tyabb on the map and brings lots of tourists to our little town. Not to mention the charities & local businesses that benefit from this magnificent event. We are residents who live adjacent to the airport and we love it.
MPSC should be ashamed of their behaviour during the past few months in regards to the PAC and the tyabb airfield.

  35. Laura Dunkley commented

My whole family look forward to the Airshow every 2nd year and can’t wait to see it again next year! It is a no brainer to continue with this wonderful event
