I object to this application. No reasons for tree removal are provided. The form notes 4 trees for removal but only identifies one.

The removal of native established trees such as Turpentine is detrimental to our environment and to our climate. Please consider pruning if that is required, but leave the trees!
Why are 4 trees mentioned in the application??????
This is a heritage area and that means that both the house and garden are to be preserved.

I object to the removal of this Turpentine tree for reasons including:
This tree is in a Heritage Conservation Area (HCA) in which trees and vegetation should be preserved and the character protected. Epping is seeing far to many trees being removed from our HCAs (a recent eg 74 Oxford Street).
The plans submitted indicate the tree is to be removed to make way for an extension to the house. The tree removal should therefore be considered as part of the DA and not through a TA. It is becoming far to common for trees to be removed prior to a DA being submitted and this is not consistent with Council policy. To use a TA to remove this tree is therefore procedurally incorrect.
This is an indigenous tree and a species which needs to be preserved.
There is no evidence that a wildlife study has been undertaken to identify wildlife which rely on this indigenous tree for habitat and possibly as a food source. I am seeing birds fighting for territory and access to the remaining trees in Epping.
The tree is not identified to be diseased. There is no arborist report.
The City of Parramatta Council is part of the Turn Down the Heat Strategy. Epping needs to have its tree canopy maintained to help Turn Down the Heat.
There is nothing in the Council's policies about removing trees just because people want them removed. Please do not set this precedent.
