Can Council ensure the replacement of the old shed with a new granny flat has off-street parking? Too often, these small lots leave no space for tenants cars and they end up cluttering the lane way space for other residents, especially when a tenant has a 2nd car or trailer.
Also, can any shade trees be retained and worked around as this area is now designated at one of the hottest suburbs in summer from shade (canopy) loss.

This new secondary dwelling will increase to ten the number “fronting” onto the lane which is at the rear of properties on Hobart Avenue and Adelaide Street between Perth Street and Bathurst Street. These continued approvals are now generating significant traffic and parking issues, often resulting in the lane being blocked and significant dust being generated. The point has been reached where Council must consider sealing this section of laneway as well as insuring that secondary dwellings have some off-street parking. To ignore this problem is no longer acceptable.

I completely agree with Greame - the council can no longer ignore the problem it has created across the Peninsula’s laneways.

These laneways are used for unregulated and excessive parking; traffic congestion adjacent to homes; no protection to homes and properties from road users; are not being safely used by traffic; are creating unsafe pedestrian spaces; are creating excessive and unsafe dust; are creating social issues between neighbours; are unsafe for children.

Our backyard fence has been run into by cars several times and is constantly used for cars parking adjacent to our house.

The laneways are quickly becoming unsafe for residents in the area.
