As usual for IWC, when you go to the documents: "No records to display"

    I know, right, Mike?
Their answer to why they can't post the DA with the documents is that they don't post the DA with the documents.
this is the message I was sent:

"Documentation is unlikely to be available straight away, but once the documentation is uploaded in our system and can be made available on Council's web page, it will be."

Leichardt can do it, Ashfield can do it, all other IWC areas can do it, Marrickville can't and won't. Honestly, the amalgamation was supposed to improve services by integrating them - I don't see any integration whatsoever here.

I have just written to the local paper - maybe they can help
Community minded residents who want to contribute to the planning process by commenting on development applications are becoming very frustrated by Inner West Council.
Development applications are posted on their website without any documentation, and residents are left in the dark as to whether the plans might include a new cafe, a multi-storey block of flats, or possibly even a nuclear power station.
For months there have been questions and requests - Where are the documents? Please provide the documents to this DA.
Their answer to why they can't post the DA with the documents is that :
"Documentation is unlikely to be available straight away, but once the documentation is uploaded in our system and can be made available on Council's web page, it will be."
City of Sydney can do it, Bayside can do it, why can't Inner West?

Amalgamation was never about improving services, it was a grubby political hack. Notice that Darcy has gone quiet on it since his deal with the Tories to get the Mayor position?

Council: You really can't start the clock on advertising a DA until the DA posted includes the documents. At some point this is going to be tested in the Land & Environment Court. Do you want to be defending that?

  5. Simon Rumble commented

Council just emailed me to say the documents are now available. 21 days after they notified of the DA.

  6. JoeO commented

    I know right, Simon?

The passive aggressive message accompanying the notice, in bold italics is:

“Please note that applications appear on the Planning Alerts web page shortly after the details are entered into our system. Documentation is unlikely to be available straight away, but once the documentation is uploaded in our system and can be made available on Council's web page, it will be.“

In other words, they’re ready when they’re ready and we don’t care that the DA is lodged for public comments without the documents.
