It would be such a shame if approval was given to remove this Norfolk Island pine. It is a mature, strong, beautifully developed tree in a streetscape where there are very few such trees.
There have been attempts by Council over a long period of time to re-establish the line of Norfolk Island pines, which were once such a beautiful feature of Campbell Parade. They are starting to grow nicely and really enhance Bondi Beach now, yet we have an application to remove this beauty in Roscoe Street.
If we look at the given image of this part of Roscoe Street, there is not much other than this tree to recommend it.

I strongly agree with the removal of this tree. It is entirely inappropriate to have such a tree in such a residential area. These trees carry seed pods that can weigh up to 20kg & when falling from such height could very likely kill or injure someone. Imagine if a child was walking below when one fell! I hope council will see sense & permit its removal.
