To remove a paperbark and a gum would mean more loss of habitat for our dwindling numbers of birds generally and native birds specifically; these are just the species of trees which they depend on.
Waverley Council has recently been publicising programs through which they hope to encourage native bird species back to our area through the establishment of bird corridors. If we want native birds, we need native tree species; please don't allow the removal of these trees, Waverley Council.

The loss of trees such as the Eucalypt and Paperbark not only results in a loss of habitat for the native fauna but also removes much needed shade which reduces the heat particularly on hot summer days. Surely a compromise could be found by the Council where the trees were pruned rather than removed.
