I wish to submit my opposition to this proposed development.
I have lived here for 30 years and become increasingly annoyed and frustrated at the rapid growth of apartment blocks being thrown up at every opportunity.
St Ives is unique because of its treescape, family homes, large properties and 'village" atmosphere (actually that's all but gone now) but the continued encroachment of high density housing, be it unit blocks (like the slums of St Ives on Mona Vale Road) or retirement villas is getting out of hand. Monetary greed is winning and the local residents are ignored. Traffic congestion increases with no supporting infra structure to service the increased population. We voted you in. Listen to your community and back off this unnecessary development.

I oppose the development on apartments being built on 11 Collins road.
This area is as congested as it can possibly get already.
Killeaton street access point into this street is daily already like a car park and I feel adding another unit block here would serve to increase an already congested area. This tree lined street is also just that, a beautiful street of tree lined houses which in my opinion should not be changed to allow units to encroach it.
Collins road also has an enormous school (st Ives north) at the other end of it which brings in so much traffic into an already busy residential street and if you add another block of units to this road the congestion will make this road impassable.
Collins road is also one of the main routes in and out of the chase from which access is needed in the case of bush fires.
Please don’t let this development come to be this lovely residential side of st Ives needs to be left to be just that.

I wish to oppose the development on Collins Road. It will add hugely to an already congested area mainly due to the massive increase in high density housing in the area!
Collins Road is a main access point into this part of St Ives and I don’t believe this development will serve this area well.

St Ives does not need any more development. It is overcrowded NOW.
This one in Collins Road is completely unnecessary. Council must not allow it to happen.

I strongly oppose this development. I have lived in Collins Road for 14 years and prior to that have lived in other parts of St Ives all my life. Traffic congestion in this area is already horrendous. We do not need any more units or townhouses. Recent developments have failed to sell. The Killeaton street, Collins Road intersecting is dangerous and the nearby Memorial avenue and Cowan road intersections are already continuously bottle necked and dangerous. Please stop this constant over development in our area. The fact that many of these new developments fail to sell should be proof enough that supply now exceeds demand. Furthermore the infrastructure, roads and shopping precinct cannot cope with the increased population. St Ives High School is already at capacity as are a number of surrounding public schools. The streets are groaning under the strain of the traffic associated wiity this so please don't make a bad situation worse.

I wish to oppose the proposed development at 11 Collins Rd. It will be out of character with the surrounding streetscape and the neighbouring properties. This will lead to loss of amenity for the neighbours. The surrounding streets and infrastructure are not designed to cope with increased traffic that the development would bring. Increased street parking will pose a danger to drivers and pedestrians such as is being experienced on Killeaton St east.

    Dear Councillors,
The road system in St Ives, especially those running off the main thoroughfares, are already over-congested and nearing dangerous. Please, do not make this situation worse.

    Thank you.

Having just skimmed the traffic report. It reasonably, if a little understated, assesses the traffic on Mona Vale road as significant during peak. However, it fails to mention Killeaton street during peak times. Mona Vale road is 3 lanes. Killeaton is 2 lanes between Mona Vale and then narrows down to 1 lane immediately after Collins. This is also where a number of buses merge into the flow too. It is also at a pedestiran crossing. The road bottlenecks here, especially with evening traffic.

Congestion is further compounded by the casual parking along both Collins and Memorial by St Ives Village staff as there is not enogh parking for them at the Village.

Also in the report it states that worker parking will be in the basement when that is ready. It does not state how far into the schedule that is and where they will park until the basement is ready, which is unlikely to be very early in the process.

Truck traffic appears to be able to go both ways, in via Collins and out via Memeorial then vice versa. During this period their impact on traffic, though temporary, is going to be significant.

The incremental effects of higher density development are congesting the area. Each development on its own may not seem significant. It is when you assess the cumulative effects that you will see the true impact. We have had a number of these in recent years and the congestion really shows.

I would respectfully ask the council to refuse this development and consider future similar proposals in the context of the cumulative effect and the degenration of the suburb and errosion of its character.

I totally oppose the constitution of any further unit blocks in this area. We are at saturation point with units in st ives, there has been no additional infrastructure to support the existing ones. There is already significant traffic and parking problems. We chose to live in a quiet family friendly neighbourhood and we are currently being overrun by more and more unit blocks and hence people in our suburb. Please stop further development. The community does not support it.

I oppose the development of town houses on Collins road. The st ives north school construction is more than sufficient. The road and the ONLY road leading into St Ives North with a traffic light is Memorial avenue.Exiting safely is also the same. There are 2 new homes on Memorial avenue being constructed alongside the school with trucks, road blocks. The childcare centre at the corner all adds to vehicular traffic.I have resided in St Ives for 34 years out of choice
as oppposed to the city for peace, quiet and the green space. The council needs to heed to this..Less (development) is more!! I am saddened that the council does not curb the development. The bush fires remind us of the need for green space, less heat, more oxygen, more bird and wildlife.
