As a resident of Killarney Vale, I am horrified that this application is going through. It backs right onto Coles (formally Bilo) Car Park.... a very busy place for normal law abiding people to duck in and grab groceries. It is also a place you can find people doing drug deals at all times of the day and night and is always full of the areas most colourful residents. Even with all the decent people that live in the area visiting, it is already a place frequented by the worst of society (due to two massive housing commission areas one street over), and now you want to put a boarding house in????? Turn it into a full blown slum? Are you for real? This suburb has been finally moving forward into a great spot for families to live and you now want to do this? People are paying big money to live here, as its a lovely spot. How will this effect property prices? We threw everything we have into buying our home here, and now we get this. My family walked down to get a pie from Killarney Bakery the other day, and when we walked on the path using the community park (next to the bakery), my child found a used syringe. Is this just a taste of what our suburb will be like now? Used needles everywhere and theft rising? Well at least they wont have far to go to get their drugs - right on their doorstep and the bottle shop is less than a minutes walk. Hell, if they don't have the money, they have a whole car park full of cars to find some... These boarding houses should never be put into a residential area like this. It is only a short walk to two primary schools. Lets face it, these places would be fantastic short term to help people get back on their feet, and if full of sober law abiding citizens, I would be all for it (as would most people)…. but we all know it will end up full of people who don't want to move forward - ever! They should be away from lovely suburbs like this, not bang in the middle. This is a terrible, terrible move for the future of Killarney Vale. If you let this go through, I am heart broken for Killarney Vale.

I am opposed to the proposed reference DA - 937 / 2017A) Twelve Room Boarding House (SEPP Affordable Rental Housing) & Demolition of Existing Structures. As stated by one of the Central Coast Councillors there is nothing in the SEPP Policy to protect the current residents from the occupants and size and scale and occupants of this appalling development. It does not fit in, in any way with the existing low rise homes in the area. The application does not comply with the rules stated in the SEPP. to allow 0.5 car spaces for every room. This application only allows for 4 spaces so should be knocked back as it requires 6 spaces. This development has the potential to house 24 people and you expect us to believe they will only need 4 car spaces?? There is an immediate impact of cars being parked in front of other existing peoples homes. In reality there could be 12 cars! And don't even start me on room occupation the rooms are supposedly for maximum 2 people, these buildings are the slums of tomorrow they will end up with whole families living in single rooms. Central Coast Council regardless of the recent labor backed councillors (based on towing the party line) to make the SEPP policy, should be knocked back for the single reason that hard working people bought into this area and now have this monstrosity and its occupants suddenly among their family homes. 90% percent of these boarding house occupants will be transient, undesirables that will live in these facilities turning a lovely area into a suburban slum opposed to those few occupants who would actually use them for the intended purpose to get back on their feet and work and contribute to society and taxes. Its a joke and an insult that you're allowing this at all and sadly I think we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg. Please use some common sense and support and back the actual rate paying HOME owners in the area and knock this ugly oversized development back please.
