The arborists report speaks of healthy, vigorous, native trees that are to be removed. Its just so sad. This is one of so many applications that have been approved.
Parramatta council, where are the tree replacement plans? Shouldn't they be mandatory also?

As much as I hate to see another tree removed from our street I would urge council to consider using this DA as an opportunity to recover the basic safety and amenity lost to residents when the previous owner thwarted councils plans to give us a footpath 30-35 years ago by planting trees on the western boundary. These trees are now massive and encroach to such an extent that residents wishing to walk to or from the shops, schools, transport etc are left with no option but to risk walking on the road around a near blind corner. In addition these trees have grown to such a height that in the winter months they substantially impinge on the the natural warmth and light of the 4-5 houses directly across the road and create a corridor of impaired visibility for traffic. It would seem time for council to act to restore safety and amenity to our street.
