   This is a really bad development ! Next to a school, too high , shopping underneath .
   Should someone wish to shop there , where will they park. Who would want to shop there ! Jubilee Avenue is gridlocked a lot of the time , add in commercial activity and the traffic will be untenable.
   It seems to me that the developers build right to the border to enable a greater number of apartments and more profit. By having commercial space underneath it gives them the right to build that way.
   The residents will have access to what green open space ?
   Who would buy there ?
   Right on the Highway ...busy , noisy choked iwith traffic . Awful !

2. The developer claims there is a car park next door in the school grounds which gives adequate privacy to the school. This car park holds about 20 cars. This development is taking up a whole corner block which means at least 3 quarters of the building will overlook the school yard taking away any sunlight they would normally get. Also there will be no privacy for the children playing in a dark cold playground once the building has been erected. As for parking have they given any thought to the extra traffic. Most 1 bedroom units now don’t need parking facilities and most families are 2 car families or more these days so where is the parking coming from. The parking that is unavailable now for parents dropping off and picking up small children. Have these people no thought for these children. At the moment there is 2 commercial buildings on this block. How is it all of a sudden deemed residential?
   To the council I put this to you. Have some thought and respect to our children. We need to protect them and their privacy.
   Yes I do pay council rates and yes I do have grandchildren going to Carlton South Public School.
   This is a school that is growing in leaps and bounds due to the fact of the highly populated areas in and around Carlton.

4. I am an out of the area parent, who sends their child to Carlton South Public School. The development is an intrusion on the natural sunlight that the children need, when playing outside during recess and lunch, requiring their natural source of Vitamin D on a daily basis.
   They will be deprived of this, as the development blocks the suns rays, which normally comes over the school when they are outside playing.
   Secondly, Ecole street which is one of the two main streets used to drop off and pick up kids in the morning and afternoon, will be severely congested, to the point that their will be no more parking left for any of the parents to pick up and drop off their kids especially since their will be commercial businesses operating at the same times that school kids are being picked up in the afternoon. Us parents have a problem in the morning and afternoon with parking our cars to pick up our kids as parking in this residential areas around the school and stadium is limited. If this development goes ahead, not only would it increase the amount of cars in the area which would be more unsafe for kids, but it would be next to impossible to pick up our kids, as their wouldn't be any parking left due to the residents and customers of this development adding their cars into the mix of an already limited and congested residential area as hospital staff from St George Hospital, already park in the surrounding streets as well to go to their workplace. So I guess you can understand that it would send the area into a virtual gridlock and traffic will be a nightmare and an incident with a child unfortunately inevitable ! ! !

The structure of this development is not appropriate at all considering that it will deprive our kindergarten kids, teachers & parents from their privacy as the balconies of these appartments will overlook our school playground and staff car parking, let alone the parking issues that it will create with more residents around the area trying to find a vacant parking spot which is now already an issue that is leading to putting our kids to a higher accident risk.
   Therefore it would be greatly appreciated if you reconsider it for the sake of the safety of our kids.

6. Please do not allow this development go ahead. This is a very bad decision for our community it will most importantly affect the privacy of our school children, our teachers and their car park with the balconies overlooking the schools infant area, school canteen as this development is being built way too high up right next to our school. The structure of this building clearly indicates it will obstruct any chance of sunlight coming through, it will cause further stress on the already congested local roads causing more frustration, parents are now struggling to get kids to school on time and finding it very difficult to park in the afternoons. I ask Please don’t allow this development to go ahead. It is a bad decision for our local community.

7. This development is over council height specifications and floor ration. The school needs to acquire this property to expand for their growing needs. There is limited parking now and the traffic for the school is already unsafe, several double parking per day and stopping in no stopping. The council do not have enough staff to monitor this already so no need to consider increasing the traffic. Overshadowing the playground is very unsuitable for now and the future students. The council need to stop this kind of development in our area.

8. We all know that the basic principle is that we nurture children and care for their well being .
   If we just think of the practicalities of this Development.... it’s too big , to overpowering and too detrimental to our children .
   It’s a wrong thing . Taking their sunshine and privacy . Bad .
   And all so that a developer makes money .
   Three stories is high enough ....too high ....but six with all the balconies looking over the play ground is just too much .

9. I see the NIMBYS are out in full force. It's on the highway, on commercial land, where high rise development should be! Stop trying to holt progress and dictate what our communities should be.

   This section of the highway needs rejuvenation and is extremely run down. Hopefully this development gets approved!
