This Development Application had a 2 year deadline by Gosford Council , for the developer to commence building the units by 20 th December 2018.
Why is it now allowed to continue be built after the deadline has expired and build an extra level that was never approved?
This development was approved with a 20 page document of items to be fixed up by the developer within the 2 year timeframe.
We have had no updates on the items to follow with council requirements
The site never displayed a Development Application sign that Council requires, the surrounding neighbours were not aware of the proposed development to object in sufficient time.
The objections by the neighbouring properties were never considered by council, and some adjoining properties were not informed at all by council.
The noise from these developments during constructionis unbearable , it’s like living in a quarry for more than 12 months with the hammering and digging of the base construction.
The infrastructure is not adequate to cope with these huge developments, so why does council continue to approve them?
The street is not adequate to cope with two way traffic. When cars are parked on both sides of the road , only one lane of traffic is able to pass. Parking our own cars on the street is impossible with so many commuters parking here.
Refer to our previous objections to this Development Application; the overshadowing of our property, the invasion of our privacy in our own back and front yards, noise associated with construction, ( I can hear the construction workers talking on the site 200m away when I am inside my house), the horns that blow all day long with the cranes.
Council needs to reconsider their approvals in the area.

I would like to also know why an additional floor was approved?
Some very good points and questions raised by Margaret Hobby above.

I would love to see the response as I have similar questions. Enquires.

The building is now 8 storeys above ground which is what is allowed in the West Gosfrod area. Most new apartments are 8 levels high, so nothing out of ordinary. Its a great looking development designed by local CKDS. These developments are doing wonders for Gosford and surrounding areas.

We also support Ms Hobby and the comments offered above, It appears typical of this Council (resident for over 40 years) and observations that they apper to be incontrol of the legislation that they are employed (yes employed) to monitor and manage. They appear to be supportive of rampant high rise developments when other infrastructure and services lag behind, leading to future increased rates due to Council's inability to kep pace with essential services. For instance how many fire appliances are available to attend the current and future high rise strucures, and where are the dedicated fire water supply systems given the parlous state of our totla water supply to service the ever-increasing population increases. Soon like Sydney and Newcastel we will need a light rail system to shuttle high rise occupants from one high rise facility to anotehr and/or transport hubs. Perhaps yet another revamped LEP will be generated to incorproate the ever increasing EPand A act that favours the State Government dictates rather than those of local residents. State Government also dictates the use of Section 94 Developers Contributions which can be directed for use elsewhere and thus, leading to rates increases due to State and Local government mismanagement of funds. During the rapid race to high rise development, we pay a stormwarter levy of $124 p.a. (for 30 years) and still have no stormwater, kerb and guttering and a lousy road. All hig rise supporters should seriously review their rates and services to ensure thaey are receiving value for money. The ressults of Saturdays election will witness the comtinuing sale of assets and erosion of our asset base and wealth values, combined with fund mis-management. and/or redirectopn. In closing it appears that this developer bears monitoring and complicane by othr than private certifiers.

In Respose to RB , who hasn’t put their name to this as required, I’m guessing you are on the development team.
The 8th storey is above the threshold limitation level ( 1m above level) allowed by council, so why should this be approved?
You may think it is a great looking development design, that’s your opinion.
You will not have it looming over the top of you and have your home life disrupted for 18 months or more with digging and building , noise , dust and being inconvenienced with trucks driving up and down the short street, horns blasting from 7am till 6pm 6 days a week, a crane waving across the top of your property.
You will not lose your sunshine, mountain, sky and tree views.
You do not have to look at the invasive building 10m from your house.
The design isn’t that great it is quite ugly. And how can you say these buildings are doing great things for the area, only a few have been completed. You have no idea what the impact is going to be like on the Gosford infrastructure.
We don’t have kerb and guttering in the street. Runoff after a storm from that property travels straight down the road and floods at the bottom of the street.
The extra depth to dig the extra basement level will impact on the stability and structure of our house.
