Too often, land for renewal projects are clear-felled where not even a blade of grass or a weed is left. Can the owners make every effort to keep the trees at the back and add at least two new shade trees at the front to get shade from the setting sun? Council have a list of suitable native trees that don't have to be big, rangy gums but smaller calestemons, flowering gums and tuckeroo.
The Peninsula is now rated (with Warnervale and Long Jetty) the hottest area for heat island effect from radiation off hard surfaces (roads/pavers/paths, rooves and tin fencing). Any shade tree would be a great addition to this property and the local area.
